Methods to Clean Your Upholstery in Hygienic Way

As you know upholstery is not only vulnerable to surface stains, dust, and dirt, but grime can become deeply embedded into the fibres too. Even if you can’t see the dirt it is not there so for cleanliness and hygiene’s sake, cleaning upholstery on a regular basis is very important but it doesn’t have to be difficult. Upholstery is one of the most expensive items in our homes. Whether you just want a freshen-up or thinking of throwing out the old lounge gives us a call at Squeaky Green Clean Team. You’ll be amazed at how well your lounges will look after we have finished with them.

As the cleaning agent dries it forms a crystal around dirt, dust mites and other pathogens in the carpet. The crystals are then removed with our equipment, leaving your carpets hygienically clean. The tools that we use are a biodegradable encapsulate combined with a dry vapour steam machine, and various types of microfiber cloths. A clean and well-kept facility is essential in projecting a positive image for our business.

If you remove loose dirt on a regular basis it has less chance to work its way into the fibres of your fabric upholstery. We use sticky lint roller is great for picking up hair, crumbs and dust. Using a lint roller has the advantage of lifting the nap of the fabric, rather than flattening it and pushing dirt deeper into the weave as a brush might.

If you need to clean upholstery fabric it is important that you keep the use of water to an absolute minimum. Getting upholstery too wet can result in fabric shrinkage and watermarking. Similarly, water should not come into contact with any metal parts of the furniture, particularly the zips of cushion covers, as it will cause rusting.
